o Chinese Medical Herbs: I loved this book for it’s take on the Western Medicine view of herbs. Helps bridge East/West divide.

o Manual of Acupuncture: Masterpiece. Very detailed. Not for beginners. For serious students. For practitioners.

o Foundations of Chinese Medicine: The best book for Chinese Medicine basics. Geared for TCM serious students and practitioners. Not light reading.

o Diagnosis in Chinese Medicine: Excellent follow up book to the Foundations of Chinese Medicine, if you make it that detailed far.

o Practice of Chinese Medicine: Nice breakdown of Chinese Medicine by symptom/disease...i.e. headache, low back pain...

o Tongue Diagnosis in Chinese Medicine: Excellent basics book for Diagnosis by looking at the tongue.

o Pulse Diagnosis: Excellent concise book for diagnosis using the pulse. For serious students and practitioners.

o Chinese Tongue Diagnosis Vol. 1: I loved these books. Once you have solid TCM foundation, you can really appreciate it’s profound depth here.

o AMA- Family Medical Guide: Invaluable. The book I use to make sense of Western Medicine at a level I can understand.

o The Pill Book: Know your Meds. What a Western Med does including side affects. Side affects often much worse than problem..scary.

o The Human Body Book: Masterpiece. By visuals and simple, not dumbed down explanations, you will understand how the body works.

o You- An Owners Manual: I love Dr Oz. If I could explain Chinese Medicine with the same simplicity, clarity....I would have snatched the pebble.

o You- Staying Young: I love Dr Oz. If I could explain Chinese Medicine with the same simplicity, clarity....I would have snatched the pebble.

o You- The Smart Patient: I love Dr Oz. If I could explain Chinese Medicine with the same simplicity, clarity....I would have snatched the pebble.

o Social Intelligence: A great book. Reads like a writer for the Nytimes which he was. Great insight, depth and relevance.

o Emotional Intelligence: A great book. Reads like a writer for the Nytimes which he was. Great insight, depth and relevance.

o Awakening Intuition: Another book that should have sold millions. Amazing weaving of body, mind, emotions...mostly western view.


FOOD BOOKS
o Omnivore's Dilemma: I loved this book. Fascinating stories on how our eating habits are destroying ourselves and earth....or not.

o What To Eat: Why this book didn’t sell a million copies is beyond me. It delivers on the title.

o Fast Food Nation: Classic. Sinclair Lewis is smiling. About junk food and it’s impact on you, the environment and the food workers.

o Art of Simple Foods: Didn’t buy the book. Read plenty of articles about her. She is a modern day food hero. And we need them....bad.

o Mrs Seinfeld Cooks Grub: I didn’t buy the book. But seeing her on Oprah explaining it sure made great Chinese Medicine food sense.

o You- On A Diet: I love Dr Oz. If I could explain Chinese Medicine with the same simplicity, clarity....I would have snatched the pebble.


SPIRITUAL/GROWTH STUFF
o Autobiography of a Yogi: My personal bible. If this book didn’t exist, I’d be traveling in India looking for a master to teach me yoga.

o Yoga Mind and Body: Wanna do yoga poses right for maximum benefit? Here’s a simple book to follow along. DK is publisher, enough said.

o Power vs Force: Tremendous. Give it time to grab you... then savor. Takes spirituality out of religion.

o Second Sight: Early pioneer in intuition. Great autobiography. She struggles to embrace her gift.. then develop it.. then use it.

o Trust Your Vibes: Intuition Class 101 thru your PhD. Master at her craft. Boiled down essentials.

o Trust Your Vibes At Work: How to really think outside the box. Can you say “self employed here I come”.

o Diary of a Psychic: Sounds wacky. But great. She finds her calling then masters it.

o Biography of Great Zen Master: Masterful. Written by great student of his. Simple, profound and accessible. Should sell gazillions.

o Zen Mind, Beginner’s Mind: Zen Master’s Magnus Opus. Of course, it’s small. What’s the sound of one hand clapping? Who cares! Read this.

o Tao of Pooh: A spiritual classic that deserves the hype. I’ve read it so many times....because it so practically profound.

o Te of Piglet: Almost as good as companion book Tao of Pooh. No small feat.

o Tao Te Ching: Unbelievable translation of one of the deepest books ever written. Savor for a lifetime.

o Sacred Hoops: Masterpiece. How basketball....or anything for that matter...is a spiritual pursuit...by someone who knows.

o Razor’s Edge: I’ve never related to a character like I do to the main one here...Larry. This writer can observe, understand and write.

o Dream Symbols: I’d be lost without analyzing my dreams. This is “the book” for understanding your dream symbols. She knows.

o Peace Is Every Step: Live in the moment. Chill. Enjoy. By a great modern day spiritual teacher.

o The Power Of Myth- book: Joseph Campbell .....aaaahhh..... the master has spoken. See his life work condensed...with/by Bill Moyers. Moyers/hero.

o The Power Of Myth- dvd: Joseph Campbell ....aaaahhh..... the master has spoken. See his life work condensed...with/by Bill Moyers. Moyers/hero.

o Myths To Live: By Joseph Campbell.  The most accessible of his work besides “The Power of Myth”.

o A Guide to The I Ching: I loved this translation of the I Ching. Giving it a modern day emotional, mental take on it.

o Anatomy of a Spirit: Great wisdom. My favorite of all her books. Relating the health and dysfunction of the 7 chakras.


NATURE STUFF

o The Vision: If you have even a 1% desire to take care of the earth... Read this. The best of his amazing books.

o Collapse: Famous author deserves hype. How we are destroying our collective habitat called earth. Many sadly great examples.

o Inconvenient Truth: What can I say that you don’t know. The guy deserved the Nobel Prize. Here’s why in book form.

o Silent Spring: A courageous woman speaks up about the chemical toxins destroying earth. A ground breaking work still relevant.

o Planet Earth- book: A great video put into book form. More depth than the video. Fall in love with the earth....buy it.

o Planet Earth- dvd: I wanted to cry how good this is. Also inspiring on how they filmed it. Fall in love with nature...again.

o The Blue Planet- dvd: David Attenborough video. What more nature info do you need!

o The Living Planet- book: Chinese Medicine is basically about nature. And if you want to learn nature...learn it from David Attenbourough.

o Hot, Flat and Crowded: Another great book by Friedman. The future of business is green. And Chinese Medicine is green. Really.

o Patagonia Guy Autobiography: Modern day hero writes simple book about his great company with great products in harmony with earth.

o The World is Flat: A great book. If you want to learn how the modern business world works then read it. Then you can find your niche.

o Cradle to Cradle: Didn’t read this book. But know enough about his work that...he’s great. Architecture in harmony with nature.

o Growing a Business: If you want to start your own business....read this classic from 20 odd years ago. Still relevant. Find video too.
